Hi, my name is Rosilynn!

I’m a perfectly imperfect human on a journey of learning, growing, and self-evolution.

BIPOC trauma therapist engaging in inner-child work with a client, offering play therapy and culturally sensitive support for complex trauma in kids, teens, and adults.

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, I wholeheartedly believe in the transformative power of therapy. My authority lies in understanding early childhood trauma-where wounds often first take root. I specialize in guiding kids, teens, and adults who've weathered complex childhood storms to rediscover their inner strength and rewrite narratives that no longer serve them.

I’m not your average therapist.

I will show you my humanness and authentic self.

BIPOC play therapist and inner-child work specialist delivering trauma therapy with a culturally responsive approach for children, teens, and adults in a nurturing environment

I bring a blend of wit, humor, and deep compassion to our sessions. Earning your trust and cultivating a meaningful therapeutic relationship is a top priority for me. I use straightforward, relatable language as I believe mental health should be accessible and easy to understand. I recognize and respect the unique cultural identities and social contexts that shape your experiences. I am committed to ongoing growth and self-awareness.

Trainings & Expertise

  • EMDR is a powerful therapy for processing and resolving trauma. By guiding clients through structured bilateral stimulation while recalling distressing experiences, I help them reframe and integrate traumatic memories in a safe and supportive environment. This approach reduces the emotional intensity of past events, promotes adaptive coping, and fosters long-term healing and resilience.

  • My approach to Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is enriched by a Native American perspective, incorporating indigenous knowledge and traditional healing practices. This cultural lens emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, providing holistic support that aligns with clients’ cultural values and beliefs. By integrating these culturally specific approaches into TF-CBT, I create a safe and respectful therapeutic environment where individuals across generations can heal from childhood trauma and foster lasting positive change.

  • This credential enables me to conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnose children from birth to age 5. Early identification is essential for addressing the effects of childhood trauma, allowing for tailored interventions that promote emotional regulation, behavior management, and overall developmental well-being.

  • Play is a natural language through which children express their inner world, experiences, and emotions. It allows them to reenact traumatic events, communicate feelings of fear, confusion, or helplessness, and explore new coping strategies. By interpreting the themes and metaphors in a child’s play, I gain deeper insight into their psychological landscape, enabling me to design targeted interventions that address their unique needs and support healing.

  • This model targets attachment disruptions in children, teens, and adults affected by trauma. It focuses on enhancing emotion identification and regulation skills, addressing maladaptive coping strategies, and fostering a sense of safety within the parent-child relationship. Through structured interventions, such as narrative therapy and sensory-based techniques, this model helps individuals rebuild trust, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and navigate complex emotions arising from traumatic experiences.
